Unforgivable Omission

Stop the presses. Due to my byzantine record-haul-post-preparation methods involving image selection, I made an unforgivable omission from the account of the August 24 Record Haul:

Chic—C’est Chic

This was without a doubt the greatest treasure of the haul. It is my favorite disco album. I can and have listened to it on repeat for days. The song “I Want Your Love” is an especial masterpiece. The Bernard Edwards bass line from it is running in my head most of the time by default when something else isn’t.

“Le Freak” is the biggest hit, and of course also great. Look up what Nile Rodgers says inspired that song.

As with a lot of other albums, I can’t wait to give it a full listen with the record sides separated and in its original mastering, since the 2018 remaster is all Spotify offers.
